As part of the natural development of the groups, guidance is given on various micro-enterprise opportunities, both in the use of money raised by the group but also by a carefully-monitored rolling loan within a group. This works on the basis of a loan to perhaps an individual or pair in the group who must then, through their resulting income, loan this same amount onto someone else in the group, also seeking the opportunity to broaden their income base. The most typical area of business is in the market trading situation which gives the widows and youths the chance to develop income means outside their basic agricultural dependency.

Support and guidance is also given to income generating activities within the group situation. Particular encouragement is given to the youth groups involved in activities such as honey production and developing craft skills.

This also applies to a wide range of crafts carried out by women of all ages and status, working both individually and collectively, and with business guidance to ensure they are able to function most effectively.
