The February 2005 visit of Jim and Jan Caulfield from Jersey saw major initiatives in our programme of building nursery schools. These initiatives ranged from upgrading the homes of deceased people for use as widow-run nurseries to supplying materials and oversight for the construction of two new classrooms for the Kirongo nursery, with additional labour costs met by Amani UK.

Kirongo Nursery School

Four years ago Kirongo Nursery School had 60 children in one large classroom. With the completion of the two additional rooms they are now being officially registered as a primary feeder school with 140 children. More than 40% of these children are orphans.
