The Over 60s Friendship Group at St Alkmund's Church in Derby who, in 2009 provided funds to build a nursery class room, have this year diverted their attention to tailoring! We went with a group to visit Agawo Primary School in the autumn of 2009 where there were 524 pupils, of which some 160 were orphans. We were informed of the desperate need to provide uniforms for these orphans. On our return to the UK we shared this need with the Over 60s Friendship Group and once again there was a wonderful response to our appeal. Earlier this year all these orphans became proud owners of brand new uniforms, as seen here.

In addition, due to a violent storm, the doors of 4 latrines at the school were demolished, and the Friendship Group provided money for refurbishment.
