Having already purchased two sets of donkeys and carts as a result of saving their loose change in Smartie tubes, the members of the “Over 60s Friendship Group” at St. Alkmund’s Church, Derby, are now munching their way through more Smarties in order to raise funds for their next project.

This is to help Orinde Primary School in the Kirongo District with basic necessities. All the classrooms currently have dirt floors and there are very few desks in the classrooms.

Initially the aim is to concrete the floors because many children have to sit on the floor and, at present time, they can so easily pick up infections from the dirt floor.
