At the end of June 2007, an effervescent team clad all in royal blue departed Hazlemere UK for Kenya, to visit our friends and comrades in Oyugis.

It was the eighth summer trip from Holy Trinity Church and the largest to date by far: 22 first-timers, along with a five-strong leadership team headed by Derek Hopwood and Darren Bignell. Add in four drivers and nine local ladies who took care of our water, food and washing, and the Kenya 07 operation numbered 40 in total. With all the practical implications, God’s great care was never more evident: He kept us safe, He graciously used us to be His presence among the people, and – much more so – we received the blessing of His presence from many of those we met.
