Darren Bignell Darren Bignell is one of the three "younger" trustees and a leader at Holy Trinity Hazlemere and a regular leader of young groups to the projects in Kenya. Darren uses his creative writing skills to help Holy Trinity take groups of young people to the Project every year.
Elizabeth Feilden is Patron and founder of Amani UK. Now semi-retired from the project and living in Oxford.
Peter Fish is a Lay preacher and on the leadership team at the Church of the Good Shepherd in the Parish of Hazlemere and Widmer End. At one time he lived in Nairobi and in other countries in Africa and has been on three previous trips to Oyugis. Peter is also founder and director of Prisma Services Ltd, providing engineering systems and services to UK manufacturing industries.
Ruth Hopwood has been visiting Kenya since 2000 and helping lead trips since 2006. As a leader at Holy Trinity Hazlemere she particularly loves to see young people be inspired and challenged by the people and work of the projects. From being the old-hand with the young people, Ruth is the youngest Trustee among those of more mature years.
Jim Leftwich is Co-ordinator and Treasurer of Amani UK. A retired CEO from industry and with significant experience with young peoples’ charities in the UK, Jim visits the Projects twice a year, alternating with Holy Trinity group visits to give Amani UK a presence on the ground every 3 months.
Hazel Prestwich is retired and lives in Derby. A regular visitor to Kenya, having previously spent significant periods of time "project sitting" the Amani Project.
John Prestwich is Chairman of Amani UK. Retired from a wide engineering career, John lives in Derby and is a regular visitor to Kenya, having previously spent significant periods of time "project sitting" the Amani Project. John and Hazel bring a depth of personal contact and experience which is invaluable to Amani UK.
Emily Smith was a member of Holy Trinity Hazlemere in 2000 when she introduced the church to Amani UK and was one of the leaders when the first group visit took place that year which effectively changed the future of the Project. Today she is a young mother who works with the charity sector in Kent and brings significant governance experience to Amani UK.
Bob Waldron is a retired director from the UK retailing world and a regular visitor to the projects with both young and adult groups. Bob’s wide ranging experience makes a valuable contribution to the development of the Project.
Nick Walton is Secretary of Amani UK. An IT professional living in Cheshire and responsible for the Amani UK Newsletter, the Amani UK website, and the Upendo Foundation International website.
